One afternoon, I got a call from John, who was living in Canada and hoping to plan something really special for his wife Jeanne. They were about to have their 25th wedding anniversary, but John wasn’t able to properly propose to her the first time. So he thought it would be a great way to show his love by having a romantic surprise proposal at Clearwater Beach. He knew he wanted it to be by the water, but being from Canada and not in the area he wasn’t sure the best way to plan it.
I had a really sweet idea and instantly knew we should reach out to my contacts at the Courtyard Clearwater Beach. A rooftop bar proposal, over looking the water with champagne and roses!
The Proposal
When Jeanne and John arrived I was already at the bar. There wasn’t anywhere to hide so I sat in a chair and did my best to look unassuming. They walked up and sat next to the table we had set up for them with the champagne. John and I had set up a que – when he stood up that’s when I’d start with photos.
Jeanna was totally shocked! She was so happy and the surprise proposal went perfectly. We had some time to do a small portrait session and take some photos around the property.
John and Jeanne are two of the kindest people and I’m really happy they reached out to me. I can’t thank the staff at the Courtyard Clearwater Beach and The AC Hotel for always being so great to work with!
