When should we book you as our photographer?
As soon as you feel we are the right fit! I always schedule a consultation call or have an in person meeting with each couple to make sure we get to know each other. Being a wedding photographer is such an important part of a wedding day! I get to be with you in all the moments from the big celebrations to the intimate first look, so it’s important for us to mesh well. My dates book up about 8-12 months in advance during most wedding seasons and I don’t hold dates unless a retainer is paid.
How many hours of photography do we need?
This depends on the type of wedding you are having and the events you would like covered during your day. On average couples choose 8 hours because that is enough time to cover some getting ready before the ceremony and the speeches, dances, and cake cutting during your reception. However, every couple and wedding is unique so we can go over a rough timeline during our first call to determine what amount of time would work best. In addition, you have the option to add an hour or two at anytime if needed closer to your wedding date.
What is a first look?
A first look is the time you set aside before the ceremony that you and your spouse see each other in private with just your photographer. Couples choose to have a first look for a few reasons: First, to alleviate the nerves that come with being the center of attention as your walk down the aisle. Second, a first look is a more private moment for you and your spouse to have together. Third, a first look can add some time into your timeline by allowing your photographer to take couple portraits and complete the bridal party photos before the ceremony giving you extra time after your ceremony for family photos or cocktail hour.
Do we need a second photographer?
Having a second photographer for your wedding can be beneficial, but also depends on the size and style of your wedding. A second photographer is helpful for getting ready photos of the bride and groom if those are in separate locations. If your wedding is over 125 guests then having a second photographer will cover more area and the photographers can split up. If you are having a wedding with heavy details or traditions (ex. cultural traditions, food / dessert stations, a lot of extra activities) then having two photographers will capture different angles and more details of the day if one photographer is busy with a different activity.
When will we receive our photos?
After your wedding day I will give your photos the attention they deserve so delivery is about 5-6 weeks. I upload your images, cull to choose the best ones, sort through to crop and straighten, do my professional editing process which is about 3 steps, and then create your online gallery and USB. I do not rush this process because I believe that you deserve quality however, I strive to get your delivery to you within that 5-6 week window and no later.
