Fall is my favorite time of year for couple portrait sessions. Coming from Atlanta I’m used to the changing leaves and cooler weather, but here in Clearwater I have to get a little more creative. When couples like Felicia and Bert are looking for lots of tree and less of a beach scene I think of Philippe Park. The park is great for couple sessions and engagement sessions because there are a variety of options to take photos including a beautiful oak tree arch – if you are daring enough to stand in the road for a few shots. I have even seen a few Clearwater wedding photographers take their couples around the park for a portrait session.
One of my favorite shots from this couples session is beneath the giant old oak tree that looks like it was made for portraits. I enjoy trying to capture the personalities of the couple as well as the beautiful landscape around them. We even got their dog Hank to cooperate for a few photos with the help of Felicia’s sister who helped coax him to sit. If you bring your dog to a session it is always a great idea to have a friend or sibling that can watch them.
I’m happy to share these photos from Felicia and Berts fall portrait session at Philippe Park and I still have openings this season if you’re looking for a portrait or engagement photographer.
