On a beautiful spring day I traveled to Lakeland FL Lake Crago to photograph the wedding of Kalynn and Allen. They chose this venue because they love visiting Lake Crago for the outdoor recreation and enjoy the waterfront views. They chose to decorate with lavenders and neutral colors to stick with the outdoor lake wedding theme.
Pre-wedding
The day started with Kalynn getting ready at a cute vintage AirBnB downtown with her mother and friends. I loved the ascetics of the AirBnB and it made for so many cool options for getting ready photos and details.
Allen got ready at the Lake Crago complex with some of his close friends and prepared for the first look. Kalynn, looking beautiful, showed up in a cropped veil which was made out of her mother’s original veil from her parents wedding. The first look was sweet and Allen and Kaylnn couldn’t help but laugh as the wind blew the veil around.
The Wedding Ceremony and Reception
The Lake Crago Recreational Complex was buzzing with energy as the guests awaited the ceremony. I took the bride and groom to the dock near the water for some additional portraits and the natural beauty of the cattails and grass with the water accented their photos so well!
After the ceremony the guests were ushered into the glass reception room where they mingled until dancing comenced. In untraditional style, there were speeches and a cake but a rough timeline of when events would take place. It was more about the fun of the day and togetherness with closest guests.
Before I left for the night, I wanted to take advantage of the lovely glow from the string lights that hung across the ceremony space at Lake Crago. I had the couple come outside for a few more romantic shots in the evening light with the peaceful crickets and calm breeze in the background.
As a Tampa wedding photographer, this was a dream wedding for me! I love a beautiful outdoor space and Allen and Kalynn were truly a couple who could become close friends.
